Maserati celebrates a century of its Trident on historic racing roads.
Maserati is one of the most cherished and historic manufacturers in the automotive industry, and it’s instantly recognisable thanks to its nautically-inspired Trident logo. That logo, which is one of the most important and prominent symbols of the brand and an inspiration behind the naming of its flagship Nettuno twin-turbo V6 performance engine today, was originally created in 1926, nearly 100 years ago when the Maserati Tipo 26 was the first car to wear it.
Now, Maserati is celebrating the incredible centenary of its legendary Trident, and one of the ways that the historic manufacturer is celebrating that anniversary is by taking its cars along for the 43rd historical re-enactment of the 1000 Miglia, the historic Italian race that forged unforgettable legacies throughout much of automotive history. The race brings historic cars that participated in the original event back to the racing stage.
Maserati’s historic A6 GCS/53 is participating in the event, and its support cars at the race include Maserati’s GranCabrio 490, the all-electric GranTurismo Trofeo, and the electric Grecale Trofeo, all decorated with special liveries that celebrate the milestone centenary of the Maserati Trident.
The classic, owned by a private collector, marks the return of Maserati to the Mille Miglia race as the manufacturer that is believed to have parcitipated in the legendary race more than any other, including during the final iteration of it in 1957. With a historic creation and a group of innovative support cars at the Mille Miglia, Maserati’s celebration of a century of the Trident at a historic racing venue celebrates the manufacturer’s rich past and excellent present.
