
Kia is recalling over 600 examples of itsSportage to address a potential fire risk.
“Due to an incorrectly manufactured High-Pressure Fuel Pipe, poor sealing of the fuel system may occur resulting in a fuel leak,” the company says in its recall notice.
“A fuel leak could increase the risk of a fire, causing injury or death to the vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
The issue affects only vehicles equipped with the turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

- The recall affects 605examples of the model year 2025 (MY25) Sportage, manufactured in 2024

If you own an affected vehicle, you should immediately contact a Kia dealership to schedule an appointment to have the high-pressure fuel pump, fuel pipe and fuel rail replaced, free of charge.
