Ferrari ushers in a new era for a racing hero.
The Ferrari 296 GTB and GTS have ushered in a new era for Ferrari’s engineering and performance approach, with innovative twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrains that unlock a new echelon of power with the first V6 engine to ever be fitted to a Ferrari-branded supercar. After the 296 sent shockwaves through the roadgoing supercar world, the 296 GT3 emerged, bringing Ferrari’s new supercar era to the track.
The original unveiling of the 296 GT3 took place three years ago, at the 2022 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and now, Ferrari has chosen the same event to serve as the unveiling venue for the new Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, an improved version of the Prancing Horse GT3 race car that comes as the result of the experience of two seasons of competition for the 296 GT3 and the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 that specifically races in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Being that the vehicle is improved throughout, an upgrade kit is set to be made available for the owners of the original 296 GT3, and the new 296 GT3 Evo is set to make its racing debut in the 2026 season. While the engine remains unchanged, the aerodynamics are thoroughly improved with completely revised bodywork thanks to state-of-the-art wind tunnel testing.
The rear wheel arch was also changed in the new 296 GT3 Evo to allow for various types of tires for GT races across the globe. Other improvements have been made throughout the vehicle to further enhance its racing performance, making the 296 GT3 Evo the newest hero continuing to build Ferrari’s revered racing legacy.
